Two and Two , Twenty Two !

This time next month, the bells would have gone off and knots will happen just anytime soon.

The countdown has hit 30 !!

Feels like the clocks have been fast forwarded. It is all like watching movie in 2.5x speed than the original.

With all the craziness descending down on my head, can't help but notice the role of Two's in this entire bride-to-be'ing process.

The Engagement was on January 22 !

The Wedding will be on May 22 !!

And now, the Madisar and Mangal Sutra shopping on April 22 !!

How cool is that ? :D

Two-to-two-to-two-two !!

Countdown strikes 50 !

Yes, I have made a list.
Yes, I have started shopping.
Yes, I have my clothes designed.
Yes, I am shopping for stuffs.
Yes, I have started giving out invitations.
Yes, I have my leave planned.
Yes, I have made lists for the family too.
Yes !
Yes !!
And
Yes !!!

This is what I say, everytime people ask me, if I have done this? or done that ?!

But I guess, deep, deep, deep inside, all I wanna hear is somebody asking me, how I am instead of what I am doing.

There is no remorse, absolutely. There will never be either. Things have been way too fine off late. Despite the frequent outbursts of LOUD texts in Whatsapp, we still cannot be not-nice to each other in person. And that, according to me, is a really nice thing. It is just that I am still unsure if I will be able to handle things and situations efficiently. What if I cannot? What if I am not able to?

As much as I think I can handle the new title of being Mrs.S, underneath I am still looking out for signs/ people that will assure me that I will stay strong enough to outperform anything that comes our way.

The last thing I wanna become is a wrong piece of S's puzzle.

The Two Year Mark !

This time year before last, S dropped me off after our first outing.

It was a classified plan (until this blogpost, not anymore :P)

It was our first day together. It was a movie evening. And it was Viswaroopam !

Ha ! It all sounds so dreamy now ..

What started as a lousy conversation in Whatsapp led to this amazing evening. It was a wonderful movie followed by a long dinner and talks that ranged over many different random topics. Thinking about it now, I kinda feel thats the only sane and long talk we ever had :P

It was such a perfect evening, in many different levels. Never fails to make me smile, every-single-time.

So, what happened this time, last year? - I was in Bangalore, so pretty much nothing.

So, what happened this time, this year? - S is in Bangalore, so absolutely nothing !

>> Guess, Bangalore can never cease to be a pain !! <<

However, this day, this movie, this evening will remain to be one of the best things I ever bothered to do in my life. It is that foolproof example of 'single step -  huge leap' metaphor.

So many memories with such nice times that followed and still following... *touch wood*

PS: I am overtly glad for the way things have shaped up so far, reminiscing all the times we shared that I chose to let go of the fact that I am actually mad on him for he has been in his 'zone' for over 24 hours now. Duh !

Lost and Found v2.0

Yes, it happened.

And No, I am not proud of it.

But, yea, it was fun. And cute.

Following the lousy day of Valentines, I badly wanted to set things right, atleast to some extent and hence asked to catch up. Fast forwarding the fuss that happened to make this happen, S picked me up and we rode to the Marina, the adda of solace.

We were cozily placed on the bed of sands. It was rather a long series of cajole, contend and consolation. And that's when it happened - As a matter of habit, I removed my ring, only to put it on back immediately. In a jiffy, it simply slipped. On the sand.

I sat frozen, for I did not want the sands to gulp my ring off. S, as reflex grabbed the nearby phone and switched on the torch. Believe me, that is all happened. Nobody moved, no coordinates changed. Yet, the ring was nowhere to be seen.

I tried enacting the scene over and over again, to locate the possible point of drop. In vain.

If there was something that S ever told me during the search - "Dont move !"

At a point, he was all anxious, looking for the ring in that small diameter of a place, also not wanting to disturb the sands much and I started hearing funny voices in my head, couldn't help but smile. Also coz, I had nothing to do other than - not move !

It was actually like watching a magic show, back in school - when you drop something into the hat, but the hat remains absolutely empty. After much of a struggle, he found it a little deep into the sand, guess it had fallen on its circumference.

Sigh !

Yea, and the fun/ cute part - he offered to slip it on ! *eeeeee*

Dinner Date with P

It was supposed to be an usual dinner date with P.

Its been over a week S and I met, due to friend's wedding last weekend. And yesterday he had come all the way till home and left even without telling me about it. God knows why?!! So I had asked him if we can catch up today. To my surprise, it was an instant YES !

Then things changed.

That's when I thought he can also accompany for dinner as P has always been asking for one. We headed to Bombay Brasserie, Nungambakkam, a long time on-the-list place.

It was indeed a nice one. Food was fab. Ambience was great. S was nice. P was cool. They spoke. No awkward silences.

Yaaaaaaay !!! Also, S took the cheque. Guess, anything more will be too much to ask for.

Surprisingly, SR dropped in on us, coz they were dining in the restaurant's patio for a birthday dinner. The could never get any better could it? *touchwood*

And, here's what P has gotta say -
Hopes !

Lost and Found

Lost and Found what? - The Ring !

Yea, that's right - The Ring !

Did I? Na ! S did !

I was appalled at his cool, when he simply drove me to the shop to get another one and that's when I knew it's missing. He claimed that he couldn't find it since Monday morning. How could that happen?
I mean, we were actually looking at it the previous evening. It definitely should be somewhere in his bed or so. In his home, some place. It's a ring, it could be just anywhere. But he simply wouldn't listen. He kept repeating that he had looked around multiple times, including the places we visited on previous day, with no luck.

S was pretty sure he needed a ring. Isn't it horrendous? Ofcos, he can afford another ring. Luckily they, at the store, also had a similar one. But that's not the point. I don't want him to keep losing and getting stuffs he cannot/ does not actually care about. Except for the fact that the ring carries my name, I really don't mind him wearing or not wearing it.

The best I could do was to make him take another day to look around before he actually buys another ring.

Two days went by and we hadn't spoken. I was still mad at him for obvious reasons. But then I had to know what he did for the ring. That's when I came to know that it was in his pant pocket all the way.

God bless !!

The Ring'd Fingers !

... and finally, we got ring'd !

Despite the disappointment that we did not actually exchange the rings, I am wearing one that carries his name, yaaaaay !

This is how it went - people felt exchanging rings was so non-hindu (Whatever that means!!) and hence it was decided to be put on by my bro to him and his sis to me, in that order.

One word - WEIRD!

Anyway... I am wearing one that carries his name, yaaaaay !

and he's got mine too !

Regarding the event, yea it was fun and exhaustive too. We had an overwhelming crowd (twice the expected count) and I should admit I was not prepared for something longer than 3 hours max. We reached home only by 2330 to my plight.

Otherwise, it was immense fun - meeting people who were genuinely happy for us.

The worst part was when the photographer wanted to take couple shots. I was hopeless with posing and he - even worse. There was only pic I wanted - the ring finger pic. And other than that we took two couple shots, one with the garland and one without. How I wish I was on the other side of the cam !

I had looked at my ring atleast a hundred times, in the last 12 hours !!

*Touchwood*

In a week's time...

With just a week more to go, the craziness has started to descend on my head slowly.

Before I begin to rant, here's the list of things I have done, so far.

  • Engagement - Susan
  • Wedding - Ayisha
2. Make up and Hair - Done - It will be Janani for both.
3.Got a pedi last week, to ease out on the shoe-line tan on my feet. The biotique pack also gets a regular turn.

T^3

The - Terrible - Tan

Road trips are immense fun. Who wouldn't agree? Unplanned road trips are even more.

It was indeed a beautiful trip. It ticked off many of my always-wanted-to-go kinda places, viz.,

Alamparai Fort - French Colony - Pichavaram - Gangaikonda Chozhapuram.

But little did I consider its after-effects. Yes, I did realise I am losing an entire weekend without doing anything for the engagement. I still wanted to take the trip anyway. Yes, I knew its gonna make my Monday harder to deal with than ususal. Considering this is the longest working week of the month, its gonna make the going tough. I chose to strive through no matter.

The one thing that never occurred to me - TAN !

It was pretty hot in Pichavaram during the boat ride and UV had taken its toll on the skin. I realised that only the next day after looking at Amma's unsettling reaction, when she opened the door for me, past midnight.

I had gone like 3 shades down the color scale. What worried me was not the color change but the dry, jagged look on the face ! Now I gotta do something about that as well !!

OMG ! Why is my to-do list getting longer day by day ???!!
